GNP18 base for optical smoke detectors

GNP18 base is built as a plastic element with mounting brackets that enable OSD23/03 smoke detector to be connected to the base. It is made to be installed on a ceiling using for example screws in a distance of 90mm.

The cage has a mechanical locking (in a form of a plastic clasp lock), that prevents OSD23/03 detector from an unauthorized removal from the base (to remove it, a special key is required.) Breaking off the plastic clasp lock before installing the detector in the base inactivates this locking.

Proper electric wirings of the fire watch line have to be placed under the washers of the contacts’ back screws. Functions of the contacts are shown in the figure. The wirings are to be led through the holes behind each contact.

CAUTION!!!

Before placing OSD23 smoke detector in GNP18 base, it is important to pay attention to the locking that prevents the detector from an unauthorized removal. To remove the locking, break off the clasp lock out of the base's plastic cage (look at the figure above.)

To remove the detector equipped with the locking in the base, a special key is required. First, the key has to be inserted to a special hole on the detector's edge; then, the detector has to be held with a hand so that the hand presses the detector and causes the key to slide in until it is seated (up to the detector's bottom layer); afterwards, the detector has to be taken out of the base simultaneously being turned round.
