RCP68LS network converter
Application
RCP68LS network converter is an optional element of RCPX8 system. Within a local computer network it integrates the functioning of RCPX8 readers installed in distant places. For such a connection of readers a computer connected to a local network and RCP68LS converter are needed. The converter connects to the network a chosen number of readers. No matter how many RCP68LS converters are used, there has to be RCP78WR converter connected to the computer which runs RCPX8 system. The role of the converter is to introduce personal identity cards codes to the system data base.
Construction
RCP68LS converter is equipped with an electronic microprocessor chip. It also has a built-in RS232/485 converter.
The principle of operation
RCP68LS network converter works fully automatically. On the side of the readers the voltage of 12V is supplied – the same which supplies the main readers. The aim of the microprocessor chip is to converse and encode the signals, coming from the main computer through LAN, so that they get a form proper for the readers and inversely.
Description of the signalling LEDs:
1. correct power supply
2. 10M
3. 100M
4. 232/485 converter works
