RCP78M modem converter

Application

RCP78M modem converter is an optional part of RCPX8 system. It integrates the readers situated in different places into RCPX8 working time registration and access control system. The readers (e.g. RCP68C or RCP78R) are connected with a typical phone modem by means of RCP78M converter.

Construction

RCP78M converter is equipped with a microprocessor chip. It also has a built-in RS232/485 converter. There are two wires: one of them ending with DB9 to be connected with COM port in the computer, the other one is RJ12 to be connected with LPS1 wall terminal of RCPX8 system.

The principle of operation

RCP78M modem converter works fully automatically. On the side of the readers (RS485) the voltage of 12V is supplied – the same which supplies the main readers.Flashing LEDs mean that the modem converter works properly.
